I am a newbie and have a few questions. I have been mom to Teddy for almost a year, he is turning 3 in April. Last Tuesday, I adopted Bekah from a out of town breeder and she has the identical birthday as Teddy.
When I arrived to pick her up she was not happy. She was barking and snapping, but I figured this was normal. That evening was rough, but by morning she was coming around! Now she will let me hold her and pet her easily. I have a vet visit scheduled for both chi's. Bekah looks like heck! She had pups in Oct. and spayed in Dec...her fur is thin and very coarse. I put her and Teddy on raw food with added supplements and I see a great improvement in Bekah. Her coat has somewhat of a shine after 2 days! A couple problems though....she loves other dogs (her old home had more dogs than I could count...too many I think) but not humans...what do ya'll think, will she come around to my husband and son? Also....she has NEVER had a collar or leash on...EVER! I got a collar for now, I have a harness being shipped to me. She adapted to the collar, but the leash turns her into psycho dog. I have left a very small, thin leash on her collar as she walks around the house and it seems to help till you grab the other end of the leash. Any ideas on how to help with this? And lastly...I found this site which is near my house...they sell raw dog food....for those in the know...is this place reasonable priced and offer a good product?
