Lynn, I have to tell you that Allay will be making the 400+ mile trip with us
to get her little brother...  I did discuss this with the breeder to make sure
it would be OK with her.

Congratulations, Kay. He looks like a handsome little
guy :)

That cage story reminded me of something my friend
told me. He ran into an elderly woman this summer,
since she's sort of heavy-set it's hard for her to get
around easily... but she had an itty bitty chihuahua -
and she'll do ANYTHING for that baby. He met her at a
small family restaurant - she takes the Chi
everywhere. She had her wrapped in a baby blanket, a
very nice one in fact. She explained that she just got
the little girl from a woman who had purchased her for
$550 and kept her in a little cage ALL THE TIME. What
do these people think, that they're hamsters? Well,
this little one is now living the life of luxury -
goes everywhere - gets to nibble all her owners meals
- gets to go on 100+ mile shopping trips to get very
fancy doggy clothes. So ... this little old woman gets
a call from the previous owner insisting she gets the
dog back. Can you imagine? She probably was just money
hungry and got a better offer. (sorry to be so mean,
but it made me mad) Well, this older woman said,
"she'll get her back over my dead body!" So, the
little pooch is staying in her happy home and not
going back to the cage from ....(looking for a
respectable word) ...heck.

Anyway - so glad your boy didn't have to suffer that
indignity of cage life like a hamster. Enjoy and send
pictures as he grows :)

I have to thank Katie here on the group.
She responded to my request for help finding a "Son"
for my husband.
Katie put me in touch with her wonderful breeder of
Sophie, and I can
vouch that this breeder is very special.
Unfortunately she had sold
the little male I had wanted but she contacted
breeders she could
recommend and had one contact me.  The result after a
few days of
checking web sites, being sent pictures, and some
phone calls to Katies
breeder and a lot of phone calls to the one she
recommended  is that
we are going to be proud parents again.

We will be driving from South Carolina to northern
Florida a week
from tomorrow to bring our son home.   He is a
beautiful little cream
male, 6 months old, 4 1/2 lbs,  neutered and has had
all his shots.

I was very impressed with my breeder as she told me
she had sold this
little guy last week but the lady arrived with a cage,
told the breedershe
planned to keep him in a cage on her desk so he could
be close to her,
and had a large rabbit cage for him when he wasn't on
her desk and atnight.
She refused to sell him,   I'm so thankful.....     He
won't be in acage
here!  He will be running and playing with Allay and
the cats.  On ourlaps
and sleep under the covers in our bed.  My husband
plans to name him
Jose.

Katie, Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Kay
