Hi Katie - Loved the story of Pepe. On those little legs - in the big
bad world - who could think they'd do so well out there? But they do.
Your little Pepe must have wanted to get to your dad awfully bad. LOL.
The funniest comment he got about Jack was from a guy who said, "That
was a dog? It looked like a little pig!" You know how older dogs
don't have the prettiest fur sometimes - well, Jack is a long hair
(wirey) and it just sort of looks like he slept on it wrong all the
time. His eyes are white - so that's a shocker too. One guy said he
and his son wouldn't touch him because "he was acting weird". Well,
Jack (Jack is the Jack Russell's name) will shuffle around until he
figures out how to get around .. if he meets a fence, he'll sort of
snuffle around and bump into it until he navigates the length of it to
an opening. If you don't know he's blind - it looks pretty strange. My
friend says that he thinks that letting him have his full freedom to
move around outside is what keeps him mobile and he isn't about to
enforce an outdoor kennel at his old age...so, he just TRIES to keep
any eye on the little fella. For a little fella who can't see the
treat I hold in front of his nose until he can smell it, he gets
around just fine.
