Hello Linda, and welcome to the group.  I haven't been here too long myself but have made some good friends and am really thoroughly enjoying this list.  I have two Chi's Margarita and Tecate and they have four little one month old babies......3 boys and 1 girl.  Sixteen feet on the ground......lol.  Thier names are Rocks, Bruno, Bear, and Willow (the little girl).  Mom, Dad and all 3 boys are all shorthaireds, but Willow the little girl is a longhaired.........there was one in her family tree and she's a "throwback" to that ancestor.  lol.  Your little girl sounds adorable and so loyal too.  I'm sure it's as much a blessing for her as it is for you to be able to share your lives with one another.  Bless you for taking in a "shelter baby".  I know that June Bug will have a really good home with you.  My landlady's grandson wanted to buy one of my male pups for breeding.  He said he wants to get a female from another person and get into the breeding business.  I saw red and refused to sell any of them.  All I could think of was all the "puppy millers" and how hard I worked for so many years to put them out of business.  I'm keeping all four of them, and Margarita and Willow WILL be spayed.  I will also neuter the boys and Tecate.  This was an "OOOOPS BREEDING" that happened when I was in the midst of moving.  They "did the nasty" in thier travel bed while I was driving across country.  I don't plan to have any more litters, although the puppies are really adorable!!!!  It's a good thing they are Chi's and not Great Danes or Irish Wolfhounds.......lol.  Can you imagine what 6 of those would be like running around the house and you'd never have a place to sit on the sofa.......lol.  OR to sleep ON the bed........lol.  I am taking lots of pictures of the little ones and will post them soon.  I can't wait to see your little guy.....June Bug's a cute name and if she's all black, I've read that this is RARE.  I'd LOVE to see some pictures of her when you get a chance to post them.  Welcome to the GROUP!!!!  Sasha

Hi -

My name is Linda and I live in Seattle WA with my DH Bill, Miniature
Schnauzer Contessa, Jave Rice Finch Piper, canary Canoli, and Lutino
Indian Ring Neck Nikki.

My Chi girl is a recent soption. She is 12 years old and a "rescue".
Her name is June Bug. She is black.

Hers is a sad story. She lived all alone with an elderly man who was
quite isolated. He died. They found him 3 days later, loyal June Bug
still by his side.

Then one of the family members just left her in the house alone but
saw to it she had food and water. Finally this family member went to
Junie's vet and pleaded for her adoption. A Chi breeder offered to
take her and advertised for a new home.

She hasn't had much skin care in the last year or so and so she's on
a heap of meds from my vet.

I have had a rescue dog before (Boston Terrier) and was looking for
a Chi. (I had one as a girl and loved it.) June Bug has been with us
3 weeks now and we a re thoroughly smitten.

I am enjoying reading about all your dogs and will post photos of my
menagerie soon.

God Bless -

Linda D in Seattle
