Maybe it is the cold weather that keeps them away there? They get real bad here in the summer (KY) I had a problem where I had rented a trailer on my property to someone who had a cat with a million fleas. When I returned to KY after going to school in OH, I decided to live in the trailer while I built my house. ALL of my pets were infested immediately!! I mean it was BAD! I called the exterminator and was told they had gotten so bad they had hibernated in the ground and were coming out of the ground all the time. It took 3 exterminator visits and a whole lot of flea medication to get rid of the problem. Exterminator sprayed both inside and outside the house. I haven't had a problem since, but the first sight of a flea makes me nervous!
