From experience, I do not believe that neutering solves any of the problems
that people thinks it solves. The only think it prevents is the ability to
father pups and prevent certain health problems. (both of which of course
are important enough!)
MarshaI think sometimes it does, depends on the dog. We have a german shepard that cam here as a stray. He was about a year old. He would hurt me. He would grab my arm or my clothes. My clothes were torn up. He would grab and shake. I knew he wasn't trying to hurt me, but he did. Once when I was feeding him he tripped me and when I fell he grabbed the back of my neck. It scared me, but I was lucky he didn't start shaking or bite down hard and I was able to get up. We decided that if we took him to the pound the way he was he didn't have a chance. We had him neutered. you couldn't ask for a calmer dog after that. He's nine now. Betty
