Bill, 2 years old is still young. He'll learn just fine. Sounds like hes pretty smart if he can spell. Hes one up on me. I have to use spell checker. The thing that helped Bear most with the loose leash walking was what we learned in class about eye contact. The first thing we did was hold a treat up by our eye and call the dogs name. When he made eye contact he got the treat. This got him to look at me everytime I called his name. This helped when we did the walking because when he would take off to go I would call his name and he would stop and look at me. Thats the main thing with most of the puppies getting thier attention. Also when we walked a while and he wasn't pulling I would give him a treat and say good boy. All the stuff kind of built on other things. We learned leave it before we did the leash walking so when he tried to stop and pick up something or chew on something you can say leave it and keep him moving. The leash walking was one of the last things we did. I'm sure the class at the SPCA will be similar. They use postitive training techniques as well. Sorry to hear about your leg. I hope you'll be getting around good real soon. Also, when I read online none of the pics that people attach come through. I saw his pic on dogster. Looks like hes getting ready you drive you somewhere.
By the way I went across the street to my neighbors with my wife tonight. They have HBO and we watched the documentary on CC Biard. Theres a special place in hell for that man and those people on his farm. That young guy had a lot of guts to go undercover like that and a lot of patience not to blow his cover. I couldn't have done it. I'd have gone postal on those guys.
