Oh Marsha, I'm so sorry you've been having to deal with all of this. I will say that it takes a very special person to take on someone else's children as her own, regardless if they are family or not. I applaud you for what you have done. Good luck with your son in the future. I will keep ya'll in my prayers. ~Lacey

Some may not apply to each group, as it may address issues from other groups. First, I thank everyone for their kind words. It has indeed been a difficult situation made worse by the circumstances surrounding it. > > I know many of you feel that ds should be punished severely. Other's feel he needs help. Let me begin by saying that no matter what he ever does, he will always be my son and I will always love him. My love for him is unconditional. If you have never had a child, you can not begin to understand that. If you have children, you know exactly what I mean. > > I do not feel offended by the comments criticizing me or ds son, because I know they come from areas of your heart that can not understand where we are. I am not the type of person who will be devastated because someone says something "mean" to me. I can live with it. However, I do not handle disagreements well. I hate to see people arguing....especially if I seem to be the center of it. > > All that said, let me give a bit of background on our situation. ds and dd are the biological kids of my 1st cousin, therefore I am well familiar with their background. However, she was a sorry excuse for a parent and both kids were neglected, abused, and eventually abandoned. Ds is 14 and dd is 12...they have lived with me on and off their entire lives, but have been with me permanently since 1999. > > I have always had issues with ds. He has been diagnosed ADHD, ODD, Bi-Polar, and today we have been told he has conduct disorder and reactive attachment disorder. Bottom line, he has a lot of emotional and psychological problems. He has been in counseling since he was 4 and currently takes 5 pills a day to combat his problems. > > In the past 6 months, I have cried out to anyone that would listen, and begged for help. I have taken him to the police, I have filed an out of control petition, I have talked with our pastor and other youth ministers in the community, and have taken him to several doctors and even hospitalized him for a week. Nothing has helped. Everyone sends him home. I KNOW he needs help. He is not a MEAN kid, per se, he just has a real mental problem that I can no longer deal with. > > Honey's death was the final straw. I have taken him to my moms and told him that I much as I love him, I can not allow him back into my home until he has received help.He is to appear in court on Tuesday. Hopefully, this time, they will place him somewhere. I still love my son and want the best for him, but I can't like the person he has become. > > He has beaten his sister black and blue and he has broken my ribs, still no one will help me and I do not have a man in my life. (no spouse and my dad is deceased) ds is able to physically overpower me. So, instead of telling me what should happen....since I know what needs to be done....I would ask that everyone please just remember us in your prayers, you mediation, or whatever you do. > > Honey was not only a beloved pet, but he was my only current AKC stud. I don't know when I will be able to afford another AKC male in that size range, so likely my breeding days have come to an end for a while. > > A PS for my animal rescue groups. Yes, I am an AKC Chihuahua breeder, but I take great pride in the quality of my pups. I love all animals and all of my pets are spayed/neutered except for those chis that I breed. I rescue animals out of love to find them a home, not to breed them. I never have and never will breed anything except full blooded Chihuahuas. If this makes me a bad person in your book, I am sorry you feel that way, but I do not apologize for breeding for the betterment of a breed that holds a special place in my heart. > > > > Marsha > " Lets talk about our wonderful little friends!
