I think the intention was suppose to be to assure the person that they have a full blooded breed. However, there are so many loop holes in all the registries, that I don't think it has worked all that well. But I do think the stricter requirements of the AKC has done a better job of assuring full blooded.

I didn't realize that the US also had a 'CKC'. THis has been an
informative post for me: continental kennel club, canadian, american
canine....we should amalgamate and call it the cutie-pie kennel club!!

Is the base function for all of these orgs to attempt to
regulate/control breeding?
