Marsha
I am glad the kittens ears are looking better. I thought about her most of last night wondering how she was coming a long. You mention your dog I bet if she's getting really large for no reason it's most likely thyroid. My Chance is hypothyroid and she got huge very fast she weighs over 100 pounds now. She hardly ate also, and was so slugglish all the time, Now she takes a daily dose of synthroid and her energy is back up and hopefully she will lose some of the weight gradually. I worried about diabiets with her but so far she's not got that. I got pics I will post them. Mija's in her new pretty pink dress giving me kisses. And also of Chance just being sweet. I hope its ok for me to post a pic of her she's not a chihuahua but let me tell you, she sure thinks she a little lap dog though.

Thanks to everyone for the kitty info. I will be taking the kitten to the vet. Barley has his well puppy check on the 6th and mom's Chiffon is going in at that time for a thyroid check (keeps gaining weight...humongous!! but eats very little!) So, what is one more kitten to go?? lol But, I didn't want to wait that long before offering the kitten some level of comfort! I have never seen ears in such bad shape in my life. Other than the ears and a tad bit of respiratory infection, he appears pretty healthy.
In the meantime, I am not allowing him around any of my animals. I paid a hefty price for that once, when I brought home a stray kitten......ALL of my dogs and cats as well as myself and my daughter, got ringworm from it!! Never again will I allow a stray around my animals until a vet check and quarantine period. I had to make 3 trips to the vet in one day in order to get all the dogs and cats in!
Anyhoo, the ears are looking pretty good right now. I know I have some ear mite stuff somewhere, but can't seem to find it. I always keep stuff like that on hand since I bring home a lot of strays, but right now, I can't find it. But I think it will now be ok until the 6th. But I am glad there was something I could do until then. I was really worried about putting that much water in his ears.
Some of you may know the recent deal with ds. This kitten was an incentive to avoid that. He LOVES kittens and saw someone had some to give away, so I agreed he could take one, but the FIRST time he participated in you know what, I would find the kitten a new home. So far it has worked....yesterday and today he has avoided doing what had become a daily routine.
