i live out in the country, my neighbors down the road do fireworks on holidays but you can barely hear them from here so it doesn't bother my chihuahuas. one is scared of thunder when it storms.  robert

This is my first year with Chi's but my street went crazy with fireworks last night and they took it with no problems.  They even went out for potty duty with no problems.  Surprised the heck out of me because most of the big dogs I have had tried to crawl under the house lol  Anna, Gizmo and Cocoa

I was wondering if everyone takes their chis with them to fireworks? If
so, how is their reaction? I have always taken Pepper with me and have
never had a problem. I do not take him as a Service dog...I take off his
vest and everything and consider him "not working". I take him for his
enjoyment. He always likes to go and see all the other dogs and have
people pet and fawn over him. He enjoys the opportunity to bark for no
reason other than he enjoys barking, ect. It is just a time for him to
have fun. He has always liked it. However, this year was so different. He
enjoyed the crowd, barked his little head off and had a good time until
the fireworks started. In the past, he barked at the fireworks, but this
year he bout freaked out! He became very nervous, was shaking like a leaf
and trying to run away. I left becaused I feared he was gonna have a heart
attack or something. He has never reacted this way! So, I was wondering
what everyone else's experience has been.
