We had a horrible accident with our baby girl puppy on Monday, when she
was only four days old. I stepped in the puppy box and my foot went on
half her chest. She became inconsolable and we called the emergency
vet and on examination discovered that her chest had been fractured.
The vet said she would no longer be able to nurse or be cared for by
her mother, so we took over. At first it was very diificult, she
didn't want to eat and choked everytime we tried to feed her. We kept
in close contact with the vet and just kept trying to feed her no
matter what, and also stimulating her to poop and pee. Since yesterday
things have been better, she's eating more regularly and we've not had
to give her baby tylenol for pain anymore. She sleeps most of the time
but I'm assuming that's normal. The other puppies are growing fast and
baby girl is getting bigger but not like the others.
I just wanted
to ask for prayers. We are doing our best but other than
the feeding and
stimulating her, and giving her constant TLC, I know it
is ultimately in
the hands of God.
