Our sweet baby girl passed away on Friday night. She hadn't been
urinating all day, but the vet said it was okay that as long as she
was eating she would be okay. We thought she was eating but when we
came home from the store her nose and tongue were purple and she was
throwing her head back and gasping for air. The vet called these
agonal respirations, and he told me she was already gone. There was
nothing we could do. We even tried to breath for her, but our guess
is that when she was stepped on it may have put a hole in her lung
and she probably drowned. I asked the vet if she should have been
put down right after it happened, but he said she could make it. I
wish we had just put her down because it breaks my heart to think
that all this time we thought she was doing better she was most
likely suffering.

I haven't lost a pet since I was a child and for lack of a better
phrase our hearts are truly broken. I hope she is happy wherever she
is. Her body has a pretty grave in our back yard, but her sweet soul
is somewhere else.

Thank you all for your wishes and prayers. Sometimes God has a
different plan than we do, and it wasn't in his will for her to
live.
