Thanks for posting the web address to CET dental products. Fifi has bad breath too. She had lots of retained baby teeth pulled when she was spayed at 10 months. Then she had her first dental when we were in the states in June. Also had 2 adult teeth pulled that were really loose (a chihuahua playing tug-of-war with a bulldog is not a good thing for the chi's teeth... lol). I used to perform dentals all the time, but I don't think any of the vets I've worked for carried these products. I'm gonna call the vet here on base Monday to see if they carry the rinse. Her teeth are clean now, but her breath needs help... lol. She tolerates brushing, but the dog toothpaste doesn't really smell fresh. ~Lacey

We just moved to NC and after 3 tries we finally found a vet that is reasonable, friendly, and intelligent. Has she had a dental yet? I adopted Jezebel when she was 5 and she had recession and awful breath. I had a dental done and they gave her some antibiotics and that helped for a little over a year. We just had a second dental at her new vet. This vet sells chlorhexidine chews and a rinse you can squirt in their mouth if they won't let you brush their teeth. You can look at the products at www.cetdental.com but they have to be bought from a vet. There is also oravet which is a paste you can use after a dental weekly to prevent plaque build up, you simply smear it on the gumline, even if you can't brush. With Jezebel we are getting a little better at brushing the teeth, I use that and a combo of the chews and oravet. We are trying to delay her next dental cause they are so expensive!
