<snicker>  I have seven pets, four dogs and three cats, all of whom are 
spoiled silly.  There is no magic number that is "too many" pets.  "Too 
many" pets is more pets than you have time to pay attention to, or so many 
that you can't afford vet bills if one of them should suddenly have an 
expensive illness or injury.
