Having just flown to pick up my new chi, each airline charges
differently. Delta $50, SW Airlines $80. You may bring your dog as
long as it fits in an approved airline carrier (must not exceed the
airline's specific dimensions, which are located on each individual
airline's webside) and be placed on the floor underneath the seat in
front of you. You cannot hold the carrier in your lap or put it on
an empty seat next to you. I was told this by the flight attendant
pursuant to FAA regulations. So as far as a medium-sized dog, I
don't think he would be comfortable on a long flight.
Good
luck.
