have the wrong idea of a BYB. Justify breeding your 4 horses when the
House of Rep Bill 503 is going to the senate???? What is so special about your
horses. I have 2 horses. One gelding and one mare. My mare
will die a virgin although she and her relatives have numerous AQHA points and
ROM's. Her father was the 96 WORLD HALTER STALLION CHAMPION under 4 JUDGES
at the Nationals!
She
has won everything from conformation classes to western pleasure and open
english pleasure classes. Sure she would be a candidate to breed but it
wouldn't be ethical to me. Why should you breed your horses because you
have a mare and access to some stud? What are you going to do when hay is
12 a bale or grain is 15 a bag and the yearly shots, worming and coggins
are prohibitive? What are you going to do when your kids want designer
clothes and your husband is sick of supporting the horses?????? You gonna find
them a home???? What if its someone who doesn't commit to them forever ......
ask any horse at the slaughter plant and they would all have a story if they
could only tell it!
BYB's
don't have to have their dogs in a cage... they can have them in their living
rooms. They can even seem to be family pets. THE BYB part to me is
indiscriminate breeding which is widespread through every dog
community.

think you need some maturity Jennifer before you slam me. My animals live
better than your children!
Its a
good thing that you can taylor God to fit your own scheme of things.... My god
is not the same. I would consider you a byb horse breeder. Many of
your relatives horses are dying in the slaughterhouses of TX (2) & IL for
the tables of Europe. If you can't make a lifetime commitment to an animal
and provide for it... (assume you have the money to provide for the future
today) then you shouldn't have it. I have provided for all my animals even
upon my death. They will all lead comfy lives as they do
now.

Obviously you haven't or you would know that a BYB is a person that
breeds without any thought to the animal, or any gentic defect that could be
passed to offspring. BYBs often have three or more dogs in a cage that is
hardly big enough for one, and the only time they see the dogs is to feed,
water, or breed them; if they even feed or water them. They pass dogs that are
sick, dying, and mentanly imparied off as clean healty animals without a
thought to what the person or people around that person might go through as a
result of having that dog around. They have dogs dying on them on a almost day
to day basies(sp), and it is no big deal to them. They just replace it with
another dog. All this just to make as much money as they can. Puppy mills are
the same only on a much much bigger scale. They are not however a person that
breeds their dog, and then have questions about it. Everyone has questions in
the begining, and good breeders never run out of questions no matter how long
they have been breeding. Just because the person doesn't tell you why they
bred their dog doesn't mean they don't have a clue why they bred their dog.
You aren't the person they have to answer to, and there for don't have to tell
you diddly sqaut. Everyone has a right to their opinions, but that don't make
the opinion right; and in this case your opinion is dead wrong. No, I don't
have any Chihuahuas yet, but the reason I want to breed is because animals
have done so much for me all these years I have been alive so I want to give
something back to them. The way I can do that is to better a breed of dog. I
choose Chihuahuas because I love the breed. You can think of me what ever you
want because your opinion of me doesn't count one iota(sp). Just so you know I
am a religous(sp) person, and to me the only opinion that counts is God's. I
already know what his opinion of me is; and his opinion of me is not as a
BYB.

Gee why are they doing it?? Why do you want to breed your dog.
Now you say you want to change breeds so that means you don't have the dog
aren't attached to the dog.. but you still want to breed WHY?????

I have read all the posts, and I have to put my two cents worth in.
First, Nonnie.
You may not mean them to be, but 99.9% of your posts are rude, hateful,
and down right out of line. I agree that there are several people out
there that should not breed. I happen to own a dog from one of thouse
breeders, and I have all kinds of problems with her. However I have only
seen one person that I felt should not breed at all, and that was awhile
back. It is common for someone who is just starting out not to know if
their female is pregnate or not, and it does not mean they do not know
what they are doing. With false pregnatcy, and many other diffrent things
it is hard sometimes to know if an animal is pregnate. You need to open
your mind, and find out what a real puppy mill/backyard breeder is before
you open you mouth again because your opinion of breeders is very wrong.
I'm sorry this is coming out harsh, but it is the truth. Just because
someone doesn't do things the way you want them to do it doesn't mean they
are bad breeders. It only means they are diffrent breeders. I hope to be a
breeder some day that is why I am in these groups. I wanted to learn as
much as I can before I began breeding. (Though I am seriously thinking
about changing my breed. It seems like so many pups, and even females die
no matter how good a treatment they get, and I am not sure I could handle
pup after pup dying on me.) So please do your research, and stop jumping
on everyone that wants to breed. You are not going to make any friends
with your attuide.
Secondly, to all other memebers.
As you can see by my post above that I do not agree with Nonnie, but we
all need to give her a break. Her posts have given me a insight on her,
and she really isn't the rude, abrasive person she comes off as being. She
is very lonely, and probably don't have many friends besides her animals.
She has nothing more to do with her time then to bash other people. I feel
sorry for her, and I understand. I use to be like her. I don't mean to
upset anyone, but I am also guessing that she was abused at some point in
her life. People who were abused have triggers that will cause them to go
off no matter how little they are. For Nonnie it is breeding. If we
all just give her a little understanding I think things will be much
better for everyone on the group. Yes, I was abused in just about every
way you can think of when I was a child, so I do know about this. Of
course Nonnie won't admit I am right, so I fully expect her to post dening
everything. Even to bash me. That is perfectly fine with me.
Sorry if anything I said hurts, or upsets everyone. I just wanted to
help, and I hope that this post helps to make things better. The above is
only my opinion, and I don't have any real prove. It is just what Nonnie's
posts tell me.
