Anna I am glad you posted.  BUT I still have one question that the breeders on the list haven't even bothered to answer.  Why are they breeding these dogs.  They claim they aren't making money on it.  Why are they breeding these dogs.  What genetic testing, what lineage checks have they done.  Why can't someone step up to the plate and answer rather than just breeding dog a & b because they are there... It makes me sick.  What justification can people come up with and why are they ignoring this very basic question..... could it be that they have no reason to breed these dogs.... oh yeah the I'm improving the breed... Your Chinese Crested shows just how much they improved the breed.

Nonnie,

I agree with you that is extremely important to save for that rainy day.  Each of my babies has an expense account so to speak.  A certain amount set aside in case somthing does arise.  We do it monthly.

Also when I foster and one gets adopted, I always recommend the same.

What I posted was meant to all, not just one.  I hope you now know that.

As I said before, I do rescue, and it is so frustrating to see them come in, a product of bad breeding and to know in your heart that the breeder is just going to do it again.  I have a little Chinese Crested girl right now that is going through that.  She came into our rescue, with very fragile bones, dry eye, and severe allergies.  The owner didn't want to deal with it, so now we have, more correctly I have her and am spending the money to get her as well as possible.  Unfortunately she will be on medications for the rest of her life, but she will have a good quality of life.  I will probably not adopt her out just because she is "special needs".

So I do understand where you are coming from, I also get so irritated with these issues.

I just hope EVERYBODY can settle down so we can get back to the dogs, though breeding is definately something we should think very hard about and why one would want to, and whether or not they can accept the responsibilities of being a reputable breeder.
