Hi everyone,
I am fairly new, have been lurkin and learning. I am 59yo chi lover.
My baby is 16 weeks old. His name is Rusty, he is light auburn even
his nose! He weighs 2 lbs. (anyone have an idea how much he will weigh
when full grown?)
He came down with kennel cough the day after I brought him home. He is
fine now. But I was worried about this hacking he does. Took him back
to the vet and they could not get hime to do it. Then one day a friend
of my daughters was here, who is a vet tech. When she heard the
hacking she said "oh, he is reverse sneezing."
I have had dogs all my life and have never heard of such a thing. I
thought she was just trying to impress me. Then you guys talked about
it and I googled it. Sure enough he is reverse sneezing.
I need some suggestions for my housebreaking delema. I do not have a
crate so I use an old mesh playpen. He hase a sleep area and a
newspaper area. He uses the paper 98% of the time. Now the problem.
When I take him out and put him on the floor (just in one room) he
doesn't use the paper. Acts like the whole room is his toilet. What
to do??
Nance, on the husband thing. What I did was have my husband feed him,
when Rusty realized Dad was in charge of his beloved food he changed
his tune. now he greats him all happy an wiggles.
Pat
