I'm not sure, but I think I read somewhere (or maybe someone told me) that if they bite/try to bite, you must take them out of the bed for a few minutes - and then let them back in when YOU want them in. Kinda like telling them it's  your bed, not theirs - I guess. Angel does this sometimes, too. I haven't messed with her over it, because dh is already asleep when I get there and I don't want to wake him up by turning on the light, removing the covers, etc. And I wouldn't do it in the dark, because I like my fingers where they are.

I have gotten really good at flipping back the corner of the sheet/cover so she gets her chance to growl, but my fingers aren't close enough to bite. I flip the cover back where her face is exposed so she can see it's me. Then she settles right down. But it would be nice just to be able to jump right in without worrying about that.

Hi My name is Kim.  I live in WV. I raise & Train English Springer
Spaniels, but I have always had 1 or 2 Chi's  for yrs. We just love
them also .  I now have a 13 yr old Long hair male, His name is Spike
who now has a bad heart & a soon to be 3 yr old white female, short
hair. Bella.  When we brought Bella home she was only 1.4 lbs. I can
remember like it was yesterday how she would curl up on the springers
beds & Autumn my oldest Springer would pull the bed out from under
Bella as she did not want her on her bed, well after a week of dragging
her bed off in different places she finally gave in & decided well I
better let her sleep with me as she is not going away. Now Bella thinks
she is a Springer.  I always have let our dogs sleep with us, Bella
included, which brings me to my  question.  Bella has a great
personality & is so sweet , but the last 6-8 months when she is
sleeping if you move her she acts out & trys to bite, I am not sure how
to correct this behavior, as it is not fun in the middle of the nite if
you move & she lashes out at you.  Any suggestions?
Kim
