Hi Kim

We just recently (about a month ago) had our 10 year old put to sleep
for a teeth cleaning and it went well. We also had our 9 yr old
sheltie mix neutered because of enlarged prostate which is common in
older dogs. But both these dogs were in good health condition at the
time of surgery even though the sheltie did have epilepsy but they
used a special anesthesia for him.

I'd get a vets opinion on his health and the neutering.

but I am new to the breed. When we got him he was skiddish of us but
this morn is starting sitting at our feet, and liking to be petted.
He also rolled over on his back and let me pet his chest late last
night. :) He is a long hair, And is named Squirral.
