LOL at your hubby. I just recently bought the furkids handmade collars on ebay and I ordered two pink ones with flowers on it for the girls and two blue ones with hearts for the boys. This is part of their Christmas gifts.
Luckily Rodney [my hubby] likes to dress the furkids up with colorful collars and necklaces when we take them riding. He's a proud papa when they compliment his furkids. Me too.

If we take her out somewhere in the evening, I do put a sweater or tshirt on her. Otherwise, since its cool, she just shakes and seems miserable. If its really cold, we don't take her out for any length of time. I always feel a bit goofy when she's dressed up in public. My husband flatly refuses to take her anywhere with him if she's wearing clothes. He said the pink leash and collar are bad enough!

IMOThe majority of dogs do not want to wear clothes, even though we want them to and think it's cute. Or maybe they need a little warmth in the winter to go outside or whatever. And though some will 'agree' to wear clothes, many usually don't really like it, either. As far as Dolly, how many hours can she stand there not moving? Do you pick her up and carry her around and play with her and stuff like that while she's wearing the sweater? Or put her in her bed and let her lay around for a while? I'm thinking it may be the same thing as folks who say their dogs don't like to wear a collar and/or leash. They can become used to them, though it may take a few days or so. And I believe in wearing a collar 24/7 with tags on it just in case they get out or something. (Although a small number of folks have debated leaving collars on.)I guess how long and how much effort you want to put into getting Dolly to feel comfortable wearing the sweater (and for what reason) will tell whether she ends up wearing one or not.Marie

Dolly our smallest Chi stands stiff when you put a sweater on her and
will not move till you take it off. She says she just is not a sweater
person.
Should we just give up on Dolly wearing a sweater. We thought they
would like them this winter since they loved being wrapped up in our
shirts or blankets.
