I have been far from the computer, but when I read your post I knew I
had to share this funny story with you. My Cocoa had the same
situation. The difference is that my girls have no male around. She
started looking chobby and her boobs getting bigger and bigger. At
some point she started lactating. We were looking for an answer, the
girls dont even get out of the house for pees! I started looking at
vet pages and I found out that sometimes dogs have fake pregnancies
and it goes as light as...just bug boobs to gaining weight and act
like they are pregnant, you know, nesting and growling if you handle
them . Read about the fake pregnancy issue if you are dead sure she
had no sexual contact with another dog. Apparently the second phase
of the menstrual period is very long and sometimes they produce
hormones like they are pregnant. Is just a messed up period. Cocoa
hasnt had any of this fake pregnancies again, but it was cute to see
her all maternal. We called her the little mommy for a few weeks.
