Well in my case, or should I say Robins he (as some already know) was
greatly underweight so much so that he was always starving. Then he
did reach that perfect weight but within a week Ooops! Now I am trying
slowly to return to that balance. I said slowly because I dont want
him to notice the difference (1 step at a time) Now I dont know what
his previous life was like but I know that he was sternly treated
(cruelly in my mind and others I know will agree).
So he tends to be overprotective of his treats and his bones and when
Salome decides that this is mine and this is mine and I will have that
too Robin puts his paws down. I think that is his right and just watch
to ensure no out of control fighting. Robin is such a gentle soul so I
let him stand up for his rights. Later much later one sees Salome with
that treat or that bone and Robin misses out. She is such a shameless
hussy.
But let your dog keep his treat best advice is ignore him and when he
finds out that you taking it away is not a threat and that he can keep
his treats then I know he will be fine.
Just by doing this I can move the treats or bones out of threats way
and Robin is happy with that as he knows that it is still his (until
of course Salome gets her sharp teeth into it but puppies will be
puppies and she has no fear lol) Cheers Furdion
