I applaud your efforts to save the "unwanted" dogs. My chis are all required to be up to standard, but that is because I am a breeder and I do make every effort to breed ethically and produce the best Chihuahuas I can. However, my chis are not my only pets. I have a lot of pets (dogs, cats, rabbits, ect)and NONE of them have ever been purchased. They are all rescues or pets that found themselves in my yard and in my family one day, lol. I even have a blind dog that wondered in and couldn't find his way back out! lol. It isn't the look of the pet that makes them special...it is what is inside. If you notice my email address, it is Ruffles. This was my favorite pet of all times. He was a full blooded mutt (we traced 15 breeds through his lines!) that I got when I was in 3rd grade and who passed when I was a sophomore in college. (that was 13 years ago) So, it is the bond..the heart that makes the pet special. I will always try to uphold the highest of standards for my breeding Chihuahuas, but I will always have room in my heart for those that are "unwanted" by society. Marsha

I have other dogs, 3 from the local shelter, one that a neighbor abused and gave me 2 puppies which I kept. The shelter dogs had life issues, my Yorkie Max was returned twice for not being potty trained and barking - he was 7 years old at the time and his owner had just died - I would pee in the house and bark if that happened to me - my 3 legged rat terrier Bambi was there just because of her birth defect, and my little Katie Chi was at least 8 years and marked vicious because she almost bite the shelter employee - she's now 14 and still has an ME ME attitude. I will never understand how people can abuse, throw away and just have a disregard for any living being. Money value means nothing to me - all my "Children '; are the same to me - On second thought - all my "Children" have issues - especially Princessa who thinks she is a Bull Dog and rules us all!!!!
