Try hand-feeding since most small dogs believe
hand fed food is human food. Mine will accept
almost any food from me. My long time companion
was down to a few teeth on one side and still
managing some dry food though moistened was easier
but he did better on small cuts of chicken and
cheese and loved pasta on occasion (tomato sauce
preferred) if fed to him from a fork. Problems
were beginning to develop with eating from a bowl
or plate and I was having better luck putting a
small handful of dry food directly on the floor
for free feeding. Ham, probably because of
seasoning, seems to be well liked by all of my
animals past and present. Getting the dog to eat
is the key, she can't go without food or you might
lose her. Talk to your vet. To be honest I did
not have much luck with canned soft dog food and
only a bit of luck with moistened dry food, have
heard of people doing well with baby food which I
was prepared to do when I lost my dog to old age
congestive heart failure problems.
