Wow, that is pretty small. I don't think there is a lot you can do in the area of helping him do for himself. I think he going to remain pretty dependant on you. Of course, there are things like steps to help him get up and down, ect, but I would be fearful that once he got up he may fall down. Personally, I think I would want him to remain down, where it is safe. What kind of things do you feel he needs help with, and maybe we can all brainstorm ideas of how to accommodate him.... Marsha
