Yes that is right there are two different types of mange. One is contagious and humans can get it. However, baby has Demodicosis (red mange) which is heredity. Transferred from the mother to the pup in the first couple of days of birth. It is not contagious though, thank god. The doctor said all dogs have the hair mite, but when you have Demodicosis it is producing more than they should have. Just like all humans have bacteria and parasites. He told me I should not breed her because it is hereditary and her liter may get the mange. Maybe not all, but some will. The mange differs in severity, I caught it early though. Treatment: Baby was RX an antibiotic for 14 days, and an ointment for 10 days. The vet said if this doesn't work we will do a special dipping for her. I pray the RX's work though.
