Could you please cross post this for me.

TWO SENIOR CHIHUAHUAS SEEKING SHELTER IN A HOLLOW TREE.

2 Chihuahuas were found by a cat in the base of a hollow tree in Lorain. The
owner of the cat went to see what the cat was doing in the base of the old
tree. She found 2 little, starving, cold dogs looking back at her. She took
them to the Lorain County Dog Pound on December 21. Because the pound was
closed for several days at Christmas the little dogs spent 9 days in a cold
cage and all they had was each other. We were contacted by a fellow rescue
person who had been to the pound and saw them. They were available for adoption
December 29, 2006 at 10:00 AM. No one called the pound looking for these 2
little girls. No one placed a "lost dog" notice in any paper that we know of.
The smallest of the two weighs 2 1/2 pounds and the other one weighs 5.0
pounds. They are both at the Avon Lake Animal Clinic tonight safe, warm and
being treated for fleas and worms. The little dog which we have no name for at
this time has an abdominal hernia the size of a giant grape
on her side and a breast mass. Both dogs have about 3 or 4 remaining teeth and
they may need to be removed when they have dental work done. Both dogs are also
in need of spay to prevent complication as they grow older. The are about 12 to
15 YEARS OLD.

It seems the Chihuahuas have been on their own for awhile now. They are under
weight and need some good food and love. We are guessing they will be strong
enough to have surgery next few weeks. If we had a normal winter this year they
would not have survived out side for more then a few hours. How did they know
to seek shelter in an old tree?

We take several special needs dogs here at Saint Francis Animal Sanctuary and
we seldom turn away the sick, senior and injured dogs. Please consider a
donation and help us give these many fine dogs a second chance in life. Please
help with the medical cost of these two lucky Chihuahuas!

December 30th. 2006 The girls are home tonight and eating like crazy! They are
great little girls.

We need help to cover the medical cost of these two little Chihuahuas. You may
