Off topic...just introducing myself to the newbies...if you already know
me and aint interested, please skip :-)

I was just sworn in/admitted to practice before the US Supreme Court. It
was pretty cool, but not really worth the drive to Washington DC, lol.
Just as you have to have a licsence to practice in any state, you also
have to have a liscence to practice before the USSC. I am now liscenced in
KY and before the USSC, and will soon be apply for reciprical liscence to
practice in OH and TN.I am a 1992 graduate of Jackson County High School
in McKee Ky. I recieved my BA in Sociology with a minor in Psychology,
from Eastern KY University in 1994, and recieved my JD from Ohio Northern
University College of Law in 1999.

Am I a poor folk? By most standards, absolutely. I live hand to mouth
just as most people seem to these days. I am not ashamed to admit that I
am not rich. My clients are as poor as they come. Much of my services are
in exchange for their services, since they can't afford to pay. Many
hours are devoted to offering free services. I am not trying to get rich
on the legal problems of other people.
Why do I charge so little or often nothing? Because I am also a kid of
poor parents who worked their butts off, often two or three jobs at a
time, just to make ends meet. I KNOW what it is like to need an attorney
but not be able to afford one. My rural community is among the poorest in
the nation. But we have a pride in that we come by what little we have by
the sweat of our brow, an honest days work, and our faith in the good Lord
above to meet and supply our needs.

I am the parent of two children, both adopted. Son is 14 and has a wide
range of psychological problems. He has been hospitalised numerous times,
and he has spent a little time in juvenile detention as a result of my
filing an out of control petittion against him charging him with assault
against me and my daughter, as well as animal abuse because he kicked and
killed one of my chihuahuas. A situation I am still having a lot of
difficulty dealing with. Son's treatment is ongoing. It is unknown at this
point whether he will ever be able to acclimate to living on his own as an
adult or if he will need long term residential halfway house type care. As
of now, he is in special ed at school, is now back home, and we are taking
it one day at a time.
Daughter is doing wonderful. She is the full biological sister of son, but
they are so different. She is a straight A student, a great helper at
home, ect.

I have 5 chihuhuas. I have a CKC breeding pair and an AKC breeding pair. I
have not yet bred the CKC pair because the female does not weight enough.
She may never weight enough...if not, she will never be bred, lol. I
should correct myself....I HAD an AKC breeding pair. The one ds killed was
the male half of that pair. I did get another AKC male, but as he matures,
it is looking less and less likely that he will be suitable for breeding.
He just does not meet my standards.

Pepper is my 5th. Pepper is a service animal, mosre specifically a hearing
dog. I am Deaf. I have a Deaf pride and will proudly let anyone know. My
Deafness has not held me back. I have never been one to accept
limitations. Yes, I have faced a lot of discrimination, but I have
overcome. I am thankful for my hearing loss. It gave me a determination i
may not have had as a hearie. My loss was progressive. Discovered at age 4
as a 10 percent loss and progressed to an over 94 percent loss by the time
I graduated college, to the profound loss now. Since it was progressive, I
was able to learn to speak and lip read before I went completely Deaf. I
am an oral communicator.

This is my mini biography. All about me, lol. Some day when I am Rich and
Famous, you can look back and say....hey I knew her when she was just a
poor country girl!! lol.
