When I first got my dog ( he was 1.5 yrs) from the pound he ate really poorly 
for the first 
several months. He still isn't consistently a member of "the clean plate club," 
but usually eats 
one good meal a day.
I too tried to tempt my little dude with people food and much of it ended up 
being to rich for 
him and he had gas and was scooting and his stool was really lose. Your chi may 
not be 
feeling well from the people food, and or it may be part of his adjustment 
process, but I 
would also say that if he hasn't eaten for a day or two there maybe something 
else wrong and 
you might be best to get him to a vet...
