It really isn't so sweet when they are outside and it is 3 AM!!! The two Bassets and Bam Bam have a HUGE back yard (you could put a horse in it) and spent a lot of times outside. We have horses and donkeys and their pasture is adjacent to the dogs back yard. We have had the livestock as long as the dogs and they still have fits when they come up to get a drink of water. It is aggravating but of course we love them all. Pebbles doesn't go outside...and hasn't howled (yet) Cindy Lynn ******************************************** Message 68 of 91 From: Mindy Nelson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> How sweet!! Rein only howls like you described when someone comes in the front door and she's back in the bedroom and can't see who's coming. She does the normal barking and each stream of barks is concluded with her raising her head back and giving a short howl. It's cute! We haven't tried to get her to sing yet - maybe that would bring out more howls! We'll have to try!
