Symantec is warning of a new zero-day vulnerability in Word 2000. A  zero-day 
vulnerability is a flaw for which there are already exploits when it is  
discovered. The vulnerability has received the highest level of severity 
rating.  
It can allow a hacker to take control of your computer.  
The attack arrives via an infected Word document. The document installs a  
Trojan on the computer. There is not yet a patch to fix the flaw. So until one  
is released, exercise caution when opening Word documents. Do not open  u
nexpected Word e-mail attachments. 
Hackers are already sending out messages with malicious documents attached.  
However, Microsoft says the attacks are limited, so far.
