You should crate train him...much was written on it here recently and it is a 
good thing. Even though my guy sleeps with me now, I believe he is more 
confident with being left alone and sleeping alone (which he sometimes does) 
because of his early training being in it. It has to be a nice place to go not 
for punishment. Maybe the crate would ease this if he was put in ti at night. 
Its not too late he's still a baby

I have a 10 week chi puppy named Poppy :) He's a whiner! Ive bought 
the book "chihuahuas for dummies" and have tried their solutions to 
stop the whining but nothing has worked. He has the run of the house 
when Im able to watch him since he's still being potty trained. When 
I get busy doing something I put him in a room (not a crate) and close 
the door...and the whining begins from a small whimper to full out 
whining! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
