My chi, Jack, had this surgery a year ago when he was 6 months old, 3 1/2 lbs. at the time. Both of his testicles were undescended...one higher than the other. The two incisions were very small. Jack was very Low-key for several days after that but the pain pill kept him very comfortable. My best friends chi, on the other hand, tried to run around like a little crazy man after his surgery. My suggestions are...be sure to tell your friend to keep the collar on EVEN if it seems he's not licking. I took it off for an afternoon, I didn't CATCH him licking but he must have because one incision got a bit infected. So keep it on him all the time. Keep him really comfy- soft blankets and lots of extra kisses. I was really worried because it wasn't a regular neuter but he was JUST fine. Lots of positive thoughts and prayers from me and Jack. :)
