I had a simular situation as what u described with a male chi I had
years ago. I bought the dog as a puppy from my neighbor. When I told her
much later that I wanted to get a female chi and have puppies she warned
me not to do it because the male would start marking and I thought she
was crazy. He had been trained forever and never lifted his leg in the
house. Well, I bought a female and the neighbor was right, Herbie, the
male, started marking. I also tried everything, because I loved that
little booger soooooooo much, but nothing worked. I finally ended up
giving him to my Uncle so I could still see him and visit him. So I only
get female dogs now.
