I have been feeding raw to my Chi since she came home. She is only 2 lbs and does well. It was the only food she would beg for and eat readily. All other kibbles (we tried most high quality ones) she would not touch. Even canned foods she would not do well on consistently. She was 13 oz when we started raw and now at 4 months is 2 lbs.
