Okay, I understand now. It's probably the same thing that greyhounds
do. They get along fine with other dogs, but when they see "their own
kind," they get really excited, like they've just come across their
long lost best friend. But I swear a lot of the websites and books
say that chis don't like other breeds! I'm relieved to know that's
not true. :-)

welcome to the group! I have had chis for 20 years and it has been my
experience that they get along great with all other pets in the family...cats,
other breed dogs, even rabbits and birds...as I have had everything!! But, they
do tend to prefer and absolutely adore other chis.....
They also tend to be territorial around "outsiders" animals.....they don't want
the dog next door coming in their yard, lol.

like everything I read about chi behavior says they don't care for
