it will probably be treated worse than most animal abuse cases because this is 
a service dog and most states make killing a service dog a felony. in Fact, 
most states make "interfering" with a service dog a felony.

  OMG, this breaks my heart!  How awful!  I have an Australian Shepherd who I 
personally consider to be my little "child" because he is sooo smart and almost 
human in nature.  I couldn't imagine someone doing this to him!  I'm glad they 
are treating this like a homicide.  It's pure murder as far as I am concerned.  
I hope they find this person and he/she gets what they deserve!  Poor dog and 
poor family.
