Welcome to the group and congrats on your new Chi! My name is Stef and I
have a 6 month old tri colored Chihuahua female named Cricket. You can see her
pics in the files and photo section if you want. Cricket is my first
Chihuahua, but I have fostered some Chis before. I also have 2 Miniature
Australian Shepherds, a male and female, named Twister and Zoe.

Skeeter's "fangs" may be the baby teeth that never fell out like they were
supposed to. Sometimes Chihuahuas and other small breed dogs have those issues
and have to get the baby teeth pulled. That may not be it but I would check
with your vet.

I got the steps for Cricket so she can easily get on and off the furniture.
They can jump pretty high but I don't think it is good for their joints. As
far as Skeeter never staying still unless he is on you lap, Cricket is the same
way, LOL! I really had trouble in the beginning with getting her to come to me
and be picked up. She's very fast and LOVES to run around! I have been
working with her with treats and praise and she has made great progress! Next,
I will try teaching her the basics such as "sit" "down", ect. I am going to
try to use the clicker training method as that's what I did with my Aussies.

Good luck with Skeeter and it was great of you to adopt him! We would love
to see pics of him if you have them!
