Hi ! I'm so excited I just need to share the great news. I recently had the pleasure of saving a healthy 2-year-old Chi who was dropped off at an animal control facility by her cancer-ridden owner who could no longer care for her. Belle was so scared that she appeared to be aggressive to the animal control employees who were inexperienced with small dogs. Unfortunately the staff labeled her unadoptable and were considering euthanasia! One volunteer, Laurie Babitts, noticed that Belle was wagging her tail while she barked ferociously at people who neared her cage. Laurie contacted me and I went to Belles rescue. Within 24 hours Belle was sitting in my lap and taking treats out of my hand!
Belle still has issues with strangers, but we are working on it with her. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. She seems to be considerably afraid of men.
