I am a little behind on reading my posts..lol...
I have had two stray dogs with litters that have had scabbies...My vet
recommended Revolution..I used it and within a weeks time the
scratching had slowed way down and stopped completly in the next half
week...So far one dose worked to curry both mom's and their
pups...According to the vet we can contract the scabbies from the
animals but we are not a perfect host so they will not stick around
long...So far I have not gotten any and I roll around with the pups and
they have evn slept in my bed numerous times...The scratching does
cause skin infections for the dogs so they also had to be put on
antibiotics...My vet told me a sure sign of scabbies is when the dogs
are scratching and they will not be distracted for any reason...This is
a very itchy mite...He said most dogs that have itches will not scratch
at a vets office so when he sees one up on his table itching he will
almost gaurentee it has the scabbies mite..
Hope my story helps you some,
Dianne
