You should come home to 3 dachshunds, they are nearly as bad. Barking, licking
and jumping. I run outside with all of them and pet them and such and then say
that's enough and everyone go pee pee and usually they settle down. Angel does
the backward sneezing thing if I don't get her settled pretty quickly so I try
to love them and speak to them all but not let it go on and on. I've found
ignoring her is the best way to stop the sneezing, wheezing noise and when she
calms down then I pet her and love her more when I get relaxed and change
clothes etc. And they are the same whether it's 10 minutes or hours. I think
it's just a doggy thing and the pack leader is home!! Jubilation time! :-)

My Chi expresses her love for me with her licking, but she also gets
the salt off my skin. My Pom did the samething and that is what the
vet told me it was. He also said to be careful where they lick as
they can get the chemicles from our lotions and creams. I let Sissy
Girl have a few licks, then I tell her NO LICK and snap my fingers.
My little girl requires a LOT of attention..... 24/7.
But you gotta love em !!!!!!

do seem to be different than other dogs! I agree that they have
very weird habits sometimes, too. My Chi, Cricket does the same
licking thing, only not as much. She also gets herself so excited
that she almost can't breath! I have noticed that Chis are VERY
senstive and VERY dramatic! I am getting used to it but they really
are drama kings and queens, LOL! They are bred to be pampered and
that's why lots of Chi lovers love them! I am not sure what you can
do about the licking but I would try to break her of the habit
before it gets out of hand.
