My Aussie male is neutered and my Aussie female is intact. When she is in
heat, my male will try to "do his deed", even though he is shooting blanks,
LOL! He doesn't really bother her otherwise. He does hump pillows and whatnot
though. He also marks and lifts his leg to pee. So, with my experience on the
subject, I would say neutering DOES NOT eliminate reproductive behaviors and I
wish people would stop misleading others that it does. YES, it is a good idea
to spay and neuter pets because of the overpopulation of dogs and cats. But,
it will not always make a difference in their behaviors.

I notice this article said that neutering eliminated reproductive
behaviors.....I hope it isn't referring to the desire to do the deed, because I
know that just isn't so. My girls do not do much bleeding and I rarely catch it
to know when is the right time for breeding, so I rely on my well proven method
of waiting for Pepper, lol. Pepper is neutered, but that doesn't take away his
interest anymore than a vasectomy takes away a human's interest. Pepper is a
great help. He pays no attention until the time the girls are receptive, then
he tries to have his fun...that is when I know the girls are ready and put them
with the right male, lol. My other boys go crazy from day one of the cycle....
