My baby does the same thing haha. Bless her heart she tries her best but her
back end hangs off every now and then I just make sure her pad is on a tiled
area :) If I catch her doing it I will place her in the middle.

 I find if I put newspaper under the pad and all around it.. those who
miss the pad, but get close to it, still manage not to wet the floor but the
newspaper instead.
Sometimes a dog thinks that they have made the pad if their front paws are
on it..unfortunately the working end is the other side!
