Around 12:30 or so, Patches began to
snuff loudly and acted as if he were trying to throw up. We were
loading up to take him to the e-vet and I called them. When I did I was
informed that unless I could give them the full amount at the time of
service, then the only thing they could offer, if I felt Patches was
suffering, was humane euthanisia. Well (sorry if I offend anyone) eff
that. I told my husband I'd rather him sleep with me again and if he
didn't make it, at least he'd pass feeling loved. Well, Patches did
throw up a couple times, kind of brownish. Then once, white fluffy
stuff. As afraid as I was, I just cuddled him close. After that white
stuff, he wasn't huffing anymore and was acting like himself.
Once everything calmed down, Neil realized that the huffing and all
started after Patches had stolen a peperoni off his plate. Do y'all
think this could have been the cause because of the spices and
everything?
Anyway, woke up this morning, Patches is prancing around like normal,
just seems kind of hungry. We mixed some chicken boulion in with his
dry food, hoping he'll eat. 4 more hours and we've reached the 48 hour
mark that the vets told me is the "critical" time.
