I'm with you, Marsha, it's been a theory of mine as well but I thought myself
being over-observant. In most situations where its happened it seems its after
he got a whiff of some elixir. Now I am convinced of the eau d toilette's
source..LOL!

Being a neurotic mom (NM) as I have called myself I'm relieved it's not some
nervous tick.
Its funny though it must be when they're really turned on even adrenaline-wise
because my boy started it as a young puppy, either during a ball game in the
house (which was realy a ruckus that often had me on the floor almost peeing my
pants laughing) where he was the "gladiator" pitted against me and (sometimes
one of the kids who had the energy) and he had to get the ball from us. We
cleared off the walls of pictures and bounced a tennis ball off it. The object
of the game was for him to get tha ball as we chased him from room to room. It
always initiated in the same place (on a low divan where there were no pictures
on the wall). This starting place was the "kick -off" and he had to sit on the
divan until we yelled "Abajar" (one of the kids made that up?!) and that meant
the ball would be thrown and end up bouncing who knows where for him to try to
get. It amazed me his sense of fairplay with it. It almost seemed like he would
allow you to get the ball if he had it for too long. When he was told to "get
in position" which meant sitting on the divan (out of the way of the ball) he
would sit there and watch like a hawk with those teeth chattering away.
Obviously happy about the whole shindig but definitely revved up. It looked
like just the front teeth (which are too cute on him as he already has an
overbite)

Anyway now its when he smells stuff on the street (if we were in a city) or if
he smelled some deer poop back home, (which I wonder if it were still because
it was not laced with female odors) or at agility class between sets.
(sorry to be a wordy gerdy but when I thought of the teeth I had to tell about
the "game". These kids are too much!
Happy Spring!

That is pretty common in chis, but I have noticed my males do that a lot when
there is a female in heat......
