Normal for a dog to do?? I think it is normal for a male of ANY species to do when a pretty female is around...drool and chatter, lol

My neutered male Aussie does this too, especially when he smells something interesting outside or smells a female dog. My female Aussie is not spayed and, when she was in heat, my male did this all day long (along with drooling). This is a normal thing for a dog to do to increase the ability to smell (and possibly "taste") the scent. It looks weird when they do it but it is perfectly normal. I have even see cats do this, male and female. Stef [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I have the same question! I have noticed it when he seems excited...like when we play ball in the house (which is very enthusiastic) and also (lately) when we are in agility class and he's found a smell that seems to get him excited (he's intact). I think (for us) its when he's very amped up, but not sure its good, as it seems to subside when I comfort him or massage him which drops his excitement level to a more centered calm place. I am very interested to hear what others say as he's my first chi and never ceases to amaze me with behaviors that are foreign to me. best, michelle and henry in the beautiful Catskill Mountains, NY -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [email protected] Sent: Sat, 28 Apr 2007 7:16 PM Subject: [Chihuahuas] Chattering mouth?
