I know you said you tried tricking her, but have you maybe tried pretending you are eating it? Like get some of that boiled chicken and pretend to eat it and make a big deal about it. Worth a shot I guess. :)

Tried all that- tyr tricking her ect.. you name it, today she did decide to eat 20 pieces, cut up of carrots, which shocked me, but then i offered real meat- nope, i thought maybe her tongue got burned one day and no she is afraid but the vet said the toungue was fine- i did notice that one of her teeth is going crucket and towards the gums area but the vet said that does not appear to hurt her at all, maybve she is just experiencing the terrible 2's. I wish i knew how to fix this- i know chocolate is off limits for our chi;s, is there any other common foods we should stay away from? --- In [email protected] <Chihuahuas%40yahoogroups.com>, "marsha" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > Jerky is not gonna be an ideal diet. Maybe try fixing the chicken differently so she thinks she is getting a different food. Maybe one day boil and the next day fry it (yea I know the great ect...but even a little vegetable oil would be better than jerky) . Try mixing it into a paste like with carrots for a change from potatoes, ect....in other words, same food, different preparations to see if that helps..... > Marsha > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: cspdcalgary > To: [email protected] <Chihuahuas%40yahoogroups.com> > Sent: Sunday, April 29, 2007 1:58 PM > Subject: [Chihuahuas] Help- this Chi wont eat real food > > > Hi i just joined, and have a 2 yrs old Chihuahua which decided not to > eat- well let me explian, she is a epilleptic dog, so after we treated > her for the seizures, she stopped eating medi-cal dry food, and the vet > said to put her on boil potatoes and chicken. > That worked well, she actually gained a few pounds and now the > heavyweight is at 4 pounds. > 2 weeks ago, overnight she decided no more chicken, no more potatoes, > they only thing she will touch is chicken jerkey (the non recalled > kind) she rather eat that then fresh chicken, dry food, wet food, you > name it, salmon, nothing just eats the jerkey- took to the vet, blood > work fine- urine fine- absolutely nothing wrong with her after all the > $$ bills. > > Anyone know what else i can do- the jerkey gives her gas like never > before and her poo well it comes only once in three days and is > diarreha type.
