Oh Susan, I am so sorry. Having just lost my Ginger a month ago I know the
emptiness you are feeling. There will never be another dog like Sam, she will
always have a special place in your heart.

That does not mean you can't make room for another when you are ready. Each is
different, but with a deep capacity to love. Nature gives dogs different life
spans than people. Most of us know that depending on how old we are, we will
most likely out live our furry companions, but we are willing to accept the
hurt in exchange for the over whelming joy. Just remember, if you hadn't loved
so deeply, the hurt would not be as great.

Subject: [Chihuahuas] I lost my little Sam

Hi everyone, I haven't been here ina while cause of school and
clinicals. Yesterday my little Sam left us. She hadn't been feeling
well, and I kissed her good bye before I left for church. When I came
home 2 hours later she was gone. I am so heart broken I can't think.
I can't sleep without her, cause she snuggled up to me every night.
Maybe some day I'll able to get another chi, but I don't know if I can
open my heart to another. Good luck to you all, Susan
